Also known as Bigmouth Trevally, Chub Mackerel, Indian Mackerel, Longjaw Mackerel, Mouth Mackerel, Rake-gilled Mackerel, Short Mackerel, Striped Mackerel.

Found in tightly packed schools, often with wide open mouths feeding in murky plankton rich waters, over coastal bays, harbours and deep lagoons.
They feed on phytoplankton and zooplankton.

Widespread Eastern Mediterranean, Indo-West Pacific.
