Found singly, pairs, or in small schools, in caves, and around ledges, and over outer reef slopes, of clear lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on small fish.
Juveniles singly or in small schools.
Length - 25cm
Depth - 0-40m
Widespread Indo-Pacific
