Also known as Farmer Damsel, Giant Farmerfish, Lagoon Damselfish, Purple-spotted Demoiselle, Sweetlip Damsel, Sweetlip Damselfish.
Found singly or in pairs, sheltering in the arms of branching corals, over protected lagoons and fringe reefs, rich in algae growth. Very Territorial.
They feed on algae, detritus, and invertebrates.

Damselfish are egg layers.
