Also known as Giant Sea Snail, North Atlantic Whelk, True Whelk, Whelk.

Found on intertidal creeks, and reef flats, fringed by subtidal channels, and oyster reefs.
They feed on clams, oysters, and scallops.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 0-50m
Widespread Western Atlantic, Eastern Pacific

These shells are spindle shaped in an elongated spire.
