Also known as Blue Trevally, Island Jack, False Bluefin Trevally, Socorro Jack, Thicklip Jack, Thicklip Trevally, Trevally, Yellowspot Trevally, Yellow-spotted Jack, Yellow-spotted Trevally.

Found singly, pairs or in small schools, in river basins and sandy channels of lagoons and seaward reefs or out in the open sea, close to oceanic islands.
They feed on small benthic crustaceans.

Widespread Eastern Central Pacific, Indo-Pacific
