Found singly, on mud and sand bottoms of coral reefs. Medium sized prawn, red with large blue/green eyes, with a prominent hump.
They feed on plankton.

Depth - 1-200m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

These prawns are usually nocturnal, hiding in sand during the day.
