Found singly, pairs, or in small schools, often in deep waters, around coral heads, and sparse inshore reefs.
They feed on algae and small invertebrates.
Juveniles sheltering with crinoids over inshore waters.
Length - 65cm
Depth - 5-40m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Batfish have a flattened profile, juvenile batfish are extremely tall finned, but as they grow they become more rounded.
