Description

Also known as Variable-lined Fusilier, Yellowline Fusilier.

Found in large, mid-water feeding schools, during the day often with Caesio variliniata, over coral reefs. Varies in colour from blue to red with night and day.
They feed on zooplankton.
Length - 22cm
Depth - 8-40m
Widespread Western Indian Ocean

Fusiliers are close relatives of snappers, but are much smaller and more slender.
Schools of fusiliers often have other species mixed in.
