Description

Also known as Gilthead, Gilthead Bream, Sea Bream, Silver Seabream, Snapper.

Found singly or in small schools during spring in shallow brackish waters of coastal lagoons and estuaries, the rest of the year found in deeper waters over sandy bottoms, seagrass beds and in surf zones.
They feed on crustaceans, molluscs and plants.

Depth - 1-150m
Widespread Eastern Atlantic, Mediterranean

Porgies are a silvery colour with hints of blue or yellow and high back profiles.
