Found singly or in loose schools, close to their burrows, over silty bottoms with small amounts of algae and seagrass cover, in coastal bays and estuaries.
They feed on small invertebrates.

Widespread Indo-Pacific

These Gobies feed by taking a mouthful of sand that is filtered through the gills for tiny creatures.
