Description

Also known as Emperor Angel, Imperator Angel, Imperator Angelfish, Imperial Angelfish.

Found singly or in pairs, in and around caves and ledges, over channels, lagoons, and seaward reefs, rich in coral growth.
They feed on encrusting organisms, sponges, and tunicates.
Juveniles in protected areas, around ledges and holes.
Length - 38cm
Depth - 1-100m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Angelfish are usually brightly coloured with highly compressed bodies.
