Also know as Southern Orange-lined Cardinal, Southern Orange-lined Cardinalfish.
Found in pairs or small schools, sheltering during the day over clear water coral and rocky bottoms of sheltered harbours, coastal and outer reefs, dispersing at night to hunt for food.
They feed nocturnally on crustaceans, small fish and zooplankton.
