Found over mud, sand and in seagrass beds of the continental shelf and upper rocky slopes.
They feed on cephalopods, crustaceans and small fish.

Depth - 5-500m
Widespread Eastern Atlantic, Western Black Sea, Mediterranean ?Red Sea

Sea Bass are solitary carnivores that hunt near the bottom usually at dusk. Food is drawn into their mouths by a powerful suction when they open their overly large mouths and then swallowed whole.
