Description

Also known as Blacktail, Sargo, Seabream, White Seabream.

Found singly, or in small schools, around rock and sandy substrates of intertidal surf zones, over sandy beaches and mouths of estuaries.
They feed on crustaceans, fish, invertebrates, seaweeds and sponges.
Juveniles over shallow reefs.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 0-50m
Widespread Southeast Atlantic, Western Indian Ocean, Mediterranean
