Description

Also known as Gudgeon, Sleeper Bandit Goby, Sleeper Goby, Tailspot Goby, White-lined Goby, White-spotted Goby.

Found singly or in pairs, hovering above, and close to their burrows, over estuaries and lagoons.
They feed on algae and tiny invertebrates.
Length - 18cm
Depth - 2-10m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

These Gobies feed by taking a mouthful of sand that is filtered through the gills for tiny creatures.
They make large homes on sandy areas below rocks, with a small entrance that is covered over at night, when predators are near these Gobies dive into the sand and swim through the sand to escape danger. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/6675
