Description

Also known as African Bluestripe Pipefish, Black-sided Pipefish, Blue-and-Orange Cleaner Pipefish, Blue-striped Pipefish, Fantail Pipefish, Flagtail Pipefish, Pacific Bluestripe Pipefish.

Found singly or in pairs, hiding in crevices, of corals, rocks, and under ledges, in lagoons and fringing reefs.
They feed on tiny swimming crustaceans and plankton which they suck whole into their mouths.

Depth - 2-50m
Widespread Eastern Pacific, Indo-Pacific

Pipefish are like seahorses in that the male gives birth!
