Also known as Bluegirdle Angelfish, Blue-girdled Angel, Majestic Angelfish, Narvarchus Angelfish, Young Blue-girdled Angel.

Found singly or in pairs, over channels, clear lagoons and protected outer reef slopes, rich in coral growth.
They feed on sponges and tunicates.

Angelfish are usually brightly coloured with highly compressed bodies.
