Also known as Beautiful Fusilier, Blue Fusilier, Blue-and-Gold Fusilier, Yellow-and-Blueback Fusilier, Yellowback Fusilier, Yellowtail Fusilier.

Found in schools mixed with other Caesionids over weedy lagoons and coral reefs rich in red algae and seaweeds.
They feed in the water column on zooplankton.
Varies in colour from blue to red with night and day.
Length - 40cm
Depth - 5-50m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Fusiliers are close relatives of snappers, but are much smaller and more slender.
Schools of fusiliers often have other species mixed in.
