Description

Also known as Blackspot Lyretail Angelfish, Black-striped Angelfish, Japanese Swallowtail Angelfish, Lyretail Angelfish, Spotbreast Angelfish, Swallowtail Angel, Swallowtail Angelfish, Zebra Swallowtail.

Found in pairs or harems, around bases of boulders, in caves, over drop-offs, of steep outer reef slopes, rich in coral growth. Males have stripes, females plain with spotting.
They feed high in the water column on zooplankton.

Depth - 20-45m
Widespread Western Pacific

Angelfish are usually brightly coloured with highly compressed bodies.
