Also known as Black-banded Seaperch, Half-banded Snapper, Half-banded Seaperch, Half-barred Snapper, Half-barred Search, Sea Perch.
Found singly or in small schools, zipping through coral channels in search of food.
They feed on small fish.

Widespread Western Pacific
Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
