Description

Also known as Bigeye Sea Perch, Golden Striped Snapper, Goldspot Mullet, Red Sea Lined Snapper, Rosy Snapper, Yellow Snapper.

Found in large schools, during the day drifting in the current, dispersing at night, to feed over off-shore coral reefs and trawling grounds.
They feed nocturnally on crustaceans and fish.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 0-90m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Most Snappers live in moderate depths, however there are a few that live much deeper. Juveniles found on inshore reefs.
They are nocturnal predators that mainly feed on fish, but will eat crustaceans, gastropods and cephalopods.
