Description

Also known as Banded Freshwater Pipefish, Bellybar Pipefish, Blue-spotted Pipefish.

Found singly or in pairs over very shallow coastal waters of estuaries, mangroves, tidal creeks, often in lower reaches of rivers.
They feed on tiny swimming invertebrates which they suck whole into their mouths.

Widespread Indo-Pacific

Pipefish are like seahorses in that the male gives birth!
