Description

Also know as Nurseryfish, Two-spotted Cardinalfish.

Found in schools, often hidden during the day, in cracks and crevices of the reefs, dispersing at night, foraging for food, over gravel pits and around rock ledges, close to edges of clearwater reefs.
They feed on small invertebrates and zooplankton.
Juveniles found in the spines of sea urchins.
Length - 13cm
Depth - 1-60m
Widespread Western Central Atlantic, Caribbean

Males incubate their eggs inside their mouths, as the egg masses increase in size they can be found with wide open mouths where they shift the eggs around to aerate the egg masses Ref: https://www.fishbase.de/summary/Apogon-binotatus.html
