Description

Also known as Indian Snakehead, Tiger Snakehead.

Found singly, or in pairs, over rivers and in hill streams. They have vertical burrows, along the margins of large rivers, and wetlands, these are mainly used in the dry season, where there will be a large chamber, leading to the ground water table.
They feed on small fish, insects, plankton, and snails.
Juveniles found in small schools.

This is an airbreathing fish through suprabranchial organ.
