Also known as Banded Bellowfish, Banded Bellows-fish, Banded Snipefish, Bellowfish, Blue-banded Bellowfish, Buglet, Red-banded Bellows-fish, Trumpetfish.

Found in small schools, over mud and sand bottoms, of the continental shelf and its slopes.
They feed on benthic invertebrates.
Length - 30cm
Depth - 35-1000m
Circumtropical

Snipefish come form a small family, Shrimpfish and Bellowfish are amongst these. Their bodies are highly compressed and mostly covered with bony plates. As with all this family they tend to swim with their heads pointing downwards. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/14242
