Found near the surface, in coastal areas, they can fly for long distances.
They feed on zooplankton.

Widespread Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean

Flying fish are all over the world and are able to fly for up to 50 meters at a time, which enables them to escape predators.
Their name has been given to the Constellation Volans, numerous ships and boats and also to the Exocet guided missiles. Ref:
