Description

Also known as Dwarf Cichlids, Dwarf Jewelfish, Riverine Cichlid, Thomas's Cichlid, Thomas's Dwarf Cichlids.

Found in pairs over shallow muddy waters in areas bordering open grass plains and forested areas with overhanging vegetation.
They feed on small crustaceans, terrestrial insects and insect larvae.
When alarmed they bury themselves in the substrate sometimes 30cm deep.
Varies in colour and pattern.
