Description
Also known as Many-lined Cardinalfish.
Found singly or in schools in lagoons, reef flats, and outer reef slopes sheltering during the day coming out at night to feed on zooplankton and bottom dwelling crustaceans.

Widespread Asian Pacific
Males incubate their eggs inside their mouths, as the egg masses increase in size they can be found with wide open mouths where they shift the eggs around to aerate the egg masses. (edit)
