Found over coral and rocky areas of reefs. Beautiful shape and colour of the shell a pinky/mauve.
They feed on bivalves.
Length - 10cm
Depth - 5-30m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

Murex shells are highly prized collectors items with their winged and pungent spines.
