Description

Also known as Lembeh Pygmy Pipe Seadragon, Lembeh Pygmy Seadragon, Lembeh Seadragon, Pipehorse, Pygmy Pipehorse, Pygmy Seahorse, Thread Pipefish.

Found singly or in pairs, over silty, mud bottoms, of coral and rocky reefs.
They feed on tiny swimming invertebrates which they suck whole into their mouths.
Length - 2.7cm
Depth - 15-20m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific

In the picture with the metal pointer the pygmy dragon is just escaping between the finger and pointer!!
This may be the newly described Lembeh Sea Dragon or just a juvenile Pygmy Pipedragon!

Pipefish are like seahorses in that the male gives birth!
