Found singly, in summer over shallow shorelines, going much deeper in winter, around coastal areas, in estuaries, lagoons and occasionally rivers.
They feed on crustaceans, small fish and molluscs.
Juvenile form schools and feed on invertebrates.
Length - 100cm
Depth - 10-100m
Widespread Eastern Atlantic, Black Sea, Mediterranean
