Also known as Bishop Ray, Bonnet Ray, Bonnet Skate, Duckbill Eagle Ray, Duckbill Ray, Eagle Ray, Lady Ray, Lady-spotted Eagle Ray, Leopard Ray, Mottled Eagle Ray, Rayfish, Skate, Spotted Bonnet Ray, Spotted Duckbill Ray, Spotted Duck-billed Ray, Spotted Eagle Ray, Spotted Stingray, Spotted Whipray, Sunfish, Whip, Whipray, White-spot Eagle Ray.

Found singly, pairs, or in fevers, swimming close to the surface, sometimes leaping out of the water, in shallow inshore areas, over sheltered bays, estuaries, and coral reefs, may also cross oceanic basins.
They feed on bivalves, crustaceans, small fish, and worms.

Widespread Eastern Atlantic, Western Atlantic
