Also known as Blue Damsel, Blue Damselfish, Blue-and-Gold Damselfish, Common Blue Damsel, Electric Blue Damselfish, Neon Damsel.

Found in small to large schools, over soft bottoms amongst rubble, of lagoons and fringing reefs.
They feed on algae and zooplankton.
Juveniles found in schools amongst soft corals.
Length - 9cm
Depth - 1-20m
Widespread Eastern Indian Ocean, Western Central Pacific

Damselfish are egg layers.
First they clear a site ready for a nest, then engage in a mating dance with rapid swimming and fin movements, during this time the males will often turn a shade or two darker and may display white blotches. Spawning occurs at dawn. Ref: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/5720
