Description
Also known as Australian Banded Pipe, Australian Messmate Pipefish, Banded Messmate Pipefish, Banded Pipefish, Messmate Pipefish, Waite's Pipefish.
Found in pairs or small schools over coral, rubble and sandy areas of shallow reef flats, lagoons and seaward reefs.
They feed on tiny swimming invertebrates which they suck whole into their mouths.
