Description

Also known as Giant Oarfish, King-of-the-Herrings, Pacific Oarfish, Streamer Fish.

Found singly, or in pairs, swimming usually with its head pointing upwards, in very deep waters, sometimes caught by trawler nets, or over shallow waters, and sometimes beached when dying!
They feed on crustaceans, fish, and squid.

Depth - 20-1000m
Circumtropical

This is the worlds longest bony fish.
