Found in pairs or family groups, hovering just above the bottom and close to their holes, over rubble and sand patches of deep coastal and outer reef drop-off's with strong currents.
They feed on copepods, crustacean larvae and zooplankton.

Depth - 25-70m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

These cute little fish usually in pairs hovering directly above the ocean floor, facing the current to catch their food.
