This eel like animal was at least 150cm long, locals seemed unconcerned and told us it was a "coleur". Lots of Pipefish around this area but none of them grows this big from what i can find out. The tail was more of a sea horse boney structure rather than a smooth eel or sea snake shape.

I agree Alyona when blown up it does look like the lions paw!
This might be a sea cucumber, probably Euapta sp, e.g., Lion's Paw Sea Cucumber - Euapta godeffroyi, though not very sure.
