Description

Also known as False Pipefish, Robust Ghostpipefish and Velvet Ghostpipefish.

Found in pairs or family groups floating with head down mimicking seagrass on seagrass beds at the edge of reefs.
They feed on small crustaceans.
Colour variable from place to place blending in with surroundings.
Length - 5cm
Depth - 5-20m
Widespread West Pacific

Ghostpipefish swim with heads down searching near the bottom for crustaceans. They can usually be found amongst seagrass, between the arms of criniods, black corals and gorgonians.
One of the oceans most beautiful creatures!
