Description

Also known as Spadefish, Longfin Batfish, Longfin Spadefish, Longfin Teira, Round Faced Batfish, Round Faced Spadefish, Round Faced Teira, Roundface Batfish, Roundface Spadefish, Roundface Teira and Teira Batfish.

Found singly or in schools in sheltered bays and jetties often close to ship wreaks.
They feed on Invertebrates, algae, jellyfish and gelatinous zooplankton.
Length - 60cm
Depth - 1-50m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Batfish have a flattened profile, juvenile batfish are extremely tall finned, but as they grow they become more rounded.
