Description
Also known as Spotted Hawkfish, Spotted Coral Hopper, Coral Hopper, Coral Hawkfish and Sharp-headed Hawkfish.
Found singly on coral and rocky reefs from shallow lagoons to deep drop-off's.
They feed on small fish and invertebrates.
Length - 9cm
Depth - 3-40m
Widespread Indo-Pacific
Hawkfish can be found perched on top of coral blocks waiting for their prey. If approached by predators they quickly dart away to hide.
