Also known as Moorish Idle, Morishidol, Moonish Idol and Crowned Scythe.

Found singly, pairs or groups on most reef habitats from shallow to deep water.
They feed on algae and sponges.
Length - 22cm
Depth - 2-180m
Widespread Indo-Pacific

Moorish Idols are a single species, closely related to Surgeonfish, but have no spines on their tails.
