Found singly, half buried on mud and sandy bottoms, wiggling its lure waiting for its prey, over shallow coastal areas down to very deep waters.
They feed on birds but mainly fish.
Length - 200cm
Depth - 20-1000m
Widespread Eastern Atlantic, Black Sea, Mediterranean.

Goosefishes are "walking" anglerfish that live on mud and sand bottoms often very deep.
