Found singly, or in small schools, around deepwater bommies, and over rough ground, in deepwater canyons, and reefs, from the central shelf edge, to upper slopes.
They feed on benthic fish.
Juveniles found in schools, over surface waters, drifting with sargassum rafts.
Length - 160cm
Depth - 50-850m
Circumtropical
