Found on muddy bottoms and in tide pools, over shallow waters, close to the shore.
They feed on other volutes and each other.

Depth - 0-10m
Widespread Southwest Pacific

Used as food by native fishermen. Shell traditionally utilized as water carrier or for bailing canoes; also used as a decorative item!

Volutes are some of the most sought after shells with their giant shells, colour and patterns.
