Found singly or in pairs, over rubble areas, of clear, shallow, lagoons and protected reefs.
They feed on small fish and benthic invertebrates.
Juveniles found singly, over rubble areas of lagoons and inshore reefs.
Juveniles in Fiji and Tonga entirely yellow!
Length - 25cm
Depth - 1-25m
Widespread Indo-West Pacific
