Description
Also known as Land Hermit Crab, Terrestrial Hermit Crab, Australian Terrestrial Hermit Crab, Aussie Land Hermit Crab and Crazy Crab.
Found on land on sand, grassy areas in sand and amongst foliage debris.
They feed nocturnally on decaying material such as dead fish, even household garbage.
Length - 4cm
Widespread Indo-Pacific
This crab prefers four types of shell, Babylonia, Tonna, Turbo, Nerita.
Hermit crabs change their shells regularly but only when they find a larger and newer shell to feel safe in!
