Found on land on sand, grassy areas in sand and amongst foliage debris.
They feed nocturnally on decaying material such as dead fish, even household garbage.
Length - 4cm
Widespread Indo-Pacific
This crab prefers four types of shell, Babylonia, Tonna, Turbo, Nerita.
Hermit crabs change their shells regularly but only when they find a larger and newer shell to feel safe in!
