About Whats That Fish

I started diving some 5 years ago with my family and we have progressed to Rescue Divers. Like many divers on our first few dives we would spend our time just trying to stay alive!! BUT We would surface and say wow did you see that "little blue/yellow fish",
and it was always very frustrating not knowing what we had seen, and perplexing for the dive guides who had to guess from our very limited descriptions. So we would start trawling through the books to try and find them.
Then we progressed to buying a camera and books, but, even with photo's it could still be difficult to find (not knowing where to look in the book) Also our weight limit for the airplane kept going up with the more books we carried.
So I started thinking, if we had a web site where we could add the few bits of the fish we could remember, like colour,stripes,dots etc and come up with the right one! WELL THIS IS IT.
This is just the start, it is a free site and we would like people to contribute with both descriptions and photo's for everyones enjoyment both amateur and professional.
If a photo on this site is not very good it is because this is the only one I have, (and I am an amateur with a small camera who clicks away as I swim past.)
If anyone feels the descriptions are wrong then please, please e mail and tell us.
